How Mr. Atheist In the Dungeon's Activism Has Affected Me
So now, I have five blog posts and two videos about Mr. Gavin Alexander because he won't leave the Ascension YouTube channel or those who comment positively on its LGTBQ+-related content alone. One of my diary entries is about how his activity on that channel have affected me emotionally. I've vented to an asexual dude on Quora who doesn't think very highly of LGTQ+ activists about Mr. Alexander's activism crusade.
Here is the diary entry (note: sharing the contents of my diary publicly is something I very rarely do):
Body text: Hey Angel Rose,
So today, I had to retake a video and upload it to Odysee. It’s all about showing how YouTube is banning YouTube video links in the comments—totally wild, right? 😅 A few years back, this Atheist and LGBTQ+ activist started commenting on a Catholic video about homosexuality, and he’s still at it three years later. Like, dude, it's been three years! Find a new hobby. No one’s paying you to harass Catholics over a video that’s just explaining Church teachings. And no, we’re not about to pull a Col. Jessup and shout, “You’re darn right we are!” (Yeah, that was an A Few Good Men reference, and yes, I toned it down. 😉 )
I get it—some Catholic crossed the line by sending him that video, and now he's on a mission to counter what he thinks is harmful to LGBTQ+ folks. But does that mean the rest of us have to be dragged into his never-ending activism? And now, he's gone and started commenting on another video from the same channel! 🙄 Look, I have my own intense interests because of my autism, but I make it a point not to violate people's boundaries. (Okay, I try my best—info dumping is real, and self-control is key!)
But this guy just keeps going, even after me and other Christians have told him how uncomfortable it makes us and asked him to, like, move on.
Honestly, dealing with all this has made me more mindful of others. When my nephew's asleep, I’m basically in stealth mode, like I'm in a 007 or Mission: Impossible movie, because he wakes up so easily. 🕵♀️ And I’ve been doing art to make people smile or laugh because, let’s face it, we humans take ourselves way too seriously sometimes. Plus, I’m all about writing stories that bring hope. But hey, I’m not perfect, and I definitely don’t think I’m better than anyone else.
Anyway, I wrote three blog posts responding to his arguments, and the video I retook is part of those posts.
Oh, and I also posted Marissa’s Diary on Tumblr and Pillowfort! The first page is all about Loki’s dramatic flair—he just had to list all of Marissa’s titles, of course. 😏And there’s a sweet note from Loki to Marissa because, in my fanfic, the diary is his wedding gift to her. 💕
