Executive Functioning: A Struggle of Autism
Executive Functioning: A Struggle of Autism
It's not uncommon for people on the spectrum to have difficulties with executive functioning skills
One of the more difficult parts of being autistic is having difficulties with executive functioning skills. While I'm great at organizing and planning in regards to my restricted interests, executive functioning skills in other areas of my life are a little more challenging.
For example, I can organize my restricted interest-related documents and pics of my artwork with ease and write what things I want to get done in regards to my restricted interests in my weekly planner just fine.
I have a Trello account with three boards. Each one is allotted to my blog, my creative writing projects, and my Odysee channel.
On my creative writing projects board, I have the following sections: active projects, dormant projects, finished projects, ideas, to do, doing, done.
With the to do, doing, and done sections, I have bite-sized manageable pieces for my active projects.
But even when I have a certain task written in my weekly planner for a certain day, I sometimes work on another task instead and don't complete the task I planned for that day. And that's OK.
